Sophie Murray: ‘I Need To Take Time To Do A Lot of Inner Work’

Sophie Murray is in her bridal era…although she hasn’t started any wedding planning.

She talks about her decision to step back to “heal” but promises to be back and better than ever after the summer is over.

We caught up with her at this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards.

Hi Sophie, you look fabulous!

Thank you, darling.

How is life for you? 

It’s very fun. I’m very much wearing my bridal era right now, even though we’re actually not planning our wedding yet. We need a bit of time because I know I’m very picky and I want my dream wedding so I’m not rushing so it’s all fun, it’s all good.

So, you’re enjoying engagement life?

Enjoying engagement life, hoping to do a house first. I was getting quoted prices for weddings, and I thought Sam Bae, we need a house first. We got to do that first. Let’s be realistic here, so that’s the current update.

Will you be house hunting in Dublin?

Yes, that I know. It’s a disgusting situation, but yeah. Can’t leave my mum, don’t want to leave his family so we’ll stay as local as we can. I know I just need to win the lotto it’s crazy.

Let’s move onto cheerier topics! What is the plan for the summer?

I’ve a few trips coming up with some fun brands and myself and Sam have a wedding which I can’t wait to go to. Now that we’re engaged going to weddings you get such a vibe for like what you want, maybe what you don’t want. So we’ve a wedding coming up that we’re into our own little trip because it’s abroad. Yeah, one of my best friends just got engaged so we’ll be celebrating her hen coming up. All the fun bits.

Oh, Girly Whirly Podcast. I’ve totally neglected the Girly Whirlies, I’m so sorry. I haven’t really said it, but it’s I actually just needed to take time to do a lot of inner work, which I’m always doing. I didn’t even properly finish the podcast but I just realised if I’m trying to teach the Girly Whirlies how to love themselves the most, I need to help myself a little bit more before I go back for another season. So, I’ll be back, just after summer. I think I just need this summer to have fun, let loose, let go of all the, you know, healing, then I’ll be back.
