Sydney Sweeney Addresses Those Glen Powell Affair Rumours

Sydney Sweeney is clearing up some misconceptions about her relationship with co-star Glen Powell.

Earlier this year, the pair spent months together in Australia filming the upcoming rom-com, Anyone But You. The pair became extremely close, as the explored Australia together and bonded on set. Syd even join Glen and his family for a day out at the zoo, and the Euphoria star confessed that she nicknamed her co-star Topgun.

So with the cute days out, adorable nicknames, and gushing interviews, fans began to speculate a romance was blossoming on set, which would have been brilliant…if not for the fact they were both in relationships.

Sydney is engaged to restaurateur Jonathan Davino, while Glen was seeing model Gigi Paris. Suddenly Sydney was seen without her engagement ring, while Glen and Gigi announced their split. Which sent fans into over drive with theories of the pair having an affair on-set.

But Sydney addressed all the drama in her Variety interview, explaining that nothing romantic happened with her co-star, and they found the rumours hilarious, playing into the theory to up the rom-com ante.

So we were bamboozled, fooled…and we’re not even angry. Now that’s what we call marketing!

“It’s a rom-com, that’s what people want!” the 25 year old confessed.

“Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker. We’re excited for the press tour, and I literally just left ADR with him. We talk all the time like, ‘That’s really funny.’”

“They want it, it’s fun to give it to ’em.”

Oh and things are perfect between Syd and her fiancé Johnathan. In fact the pair were spotted on a romantic trip to France back in May.

The couple have been together since 2018, and got engaged in 2022. They are reportedly set to walk down the aisle in the spring of 2024.

The actress previously gushed to Cosmopolitan about her partner, saying: “I have people who will battle for me, and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, ‘Oh no, I’m shining too bright and I need to step back.’”

Referring to Johnathan as her “best friend,” she added, “I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day.”

Gigi and Glen began seeing each other in 2019 before calling it quits this year.

But it reportedly had little to do with his friendship with Sydney, and was caused by their conflicting schedules and busy careers.

A source has told People magazine: “Gigi and Glen had broken up several times.”

”They had been on the rocks since Top Gun came out, Gigi was never happy with the long distance filming and when she came to Australia, they both decided to break up for good.”
