Taylor Swift just became TIME’s person of the year!

It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise; the singer has had an incredible year, smashing records left right and centre during her Era’s tour.

Of course, her career has had it’s ups and downs. Some of those downs directly involved fellow musician Kanye West, who famously interrupted Taylor’s speech at an award ceremony to say Beyoncé should have won instead.

Conflict arose again between the two a few years later when Kanye referenced Taylor in the lyrics to his song Famous.

“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, why, I made that bitch famous.”

When Taylor expressed her discomfort at the lyrics, Kanye swore she had agreed to them prior – and his wife at the time Kim Kardashian jumped to his defence.

Kim even went to the lengths of sharing a snippet of the phone call held between Taylor and Kanye where they discussed the song, making it look like Taylor had agreed to the lyric.

However, Taylor later released the phone call in full, and it was revealed that the snippet Kim had shared had been edited down to make Taylor look more agreeable.

In fact, Taylor had not agreed – as proved by the recording she shared.

Now in her interview with TIME, Taylor is reflecting back on that time, and calling out Kim directly for her behaviour.

“You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” Taylor tells the publication.

“That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.”

The Cruel Summer singer continued to explain the toll it had on her at the time.

“I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls.

“I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard,” she confessed.

Taylor went on to say that when the scandal occurred, she genuinely felt it could ruin her future.

“Make no mistake—my career was taken away from me.”

Wow. Fair play for speaking up Taylor – that was seriously not on!

Kim hasn’t addressed anything since the interview landed; and ex husband Kanye West is also yet to comment.
