Disney Reveals 2020 Release Date For Live-Action Remake Of Mulan

And it's not far away!

If you’re hooked on Disney+ at the moment, I’m sure you’re living for all the live-action remakes that have landed on the service. From Dumbo to Aladdin, The Lion King and exclusively for the service, Lady and the Tramp, we’re loving the stories coming to life again and making us feel like (big) kids.

And now, the next live-action and retelling of an iconic Disney story is that of Mulan.

Disney has given Mulan a new release date due to the coronavirus pandemic however, it’s not too far away. Announcing that the film will now be released on July 24, 2020, Mulan director Niki Caro said that she wants to release the film once it’s safe to bring Disney fans and families back into cinemas to watch the story on the big screen.

“Once it is again safe to gather, to sit in a movie theatre together and share the experience of a great story, we will be there. And we can’t wait to share Mulan’s journey with you all. Worldwide. On big screens.”

Mulan was originally meant to be released on March 27, but thankfully, the new date is only three months away and so, we cannot until we can venture out to the cinema, eat popcorn and watch this movie when it’s safe to do so.

Aside from that, Disney has also revealed new release dates for some Marvel films. Thor: Love and Thunder will arrive on February 18, 2022, Black Panther 2 will be released on May 6, 2022 and finally, Captain Marvel 2 on July 8, 2022. As these are the first release dates from the US, prepare for different Irish release dates but at least we know they’re definitely coming soon.

Exciting!
