Here’s Everywhere You Can Watch A Lot Of This Year’s Oscar Nominated Films
Oscar Sunday falls on March 12th this year, and it’s sure to be one of the biggest events of the year.
Here are STELLAR HQ, we’re particularly excited due to the Irish presence that will be at this year’s ceremony, as the Banshees of Inisherin, An Cailín Ciúin, Aftersun, and more are up for a considerable number of awards.
Irish actors and films have 14 nominations across the board this year, and if previous awards shows have been anything to go by, it’s looking like we’re going to be picking up a fair few.
So, if you’d like to watch some of the biggest Oscar nominated films from this year, look no further than the below.
The Banshees of Inisherin
The Irish-nominated film is available on Disney+, and is still playing in some cinemas.
Directed by Martin McDonagh, the flick has been nominated for Best Film at the Oscars this year. It has received a whopping nine nominations overall.
An Cailín Ciúin
An Cailín Ciúin has been nominated for Best International Film. This Irish film centres on a young girl named Cáit.
The film is still in select Irish cinemas if you want to watch it before the Oscars.
Aftersun
Aftersun also received a nomination at the Oscars this year, with our very own Paul Mescal being nominated for Best Lead Actor.
This movie is still in cinemas but if you can’t make it to the cinema you can rent Aftersun on Apple TV for €4.99.
Elvis
Elvis is currently not in most cinemas, but some screens are still showing it in the lead up to the Oscars. It is also available on Apple TV to rent for just €1.99.
The amazing biopic is up for Best Nominated Film and Best Lead Actor, for Austin Butler’s performance as Elvis.

This film was released on Netflix just before Christmas and you can still watch it there, or in some select cinemas. It’s nominated for Best Picture, Best International Picture, and many more.
It is in German so you’ll need to put your phone away to watch this one – and trust us, it’s worth it.
The Fabelmans
Steven Spielberg is back with a love letter to cinema in this semi-autographical film.
And it’s no surprise that you’ll have to go to the cinema to watch this one.
Tár
Cate Blanchett is absolutely breathtaking in her role as Lydia Tár – and with an ending like that, it’s no surprised the film is up for multiple awards this year.
