Hold On, Is Love/Hate Coming Back?

WHAT??

This is not a drill people….or is it?

RTÉ star John Connors has announced that the smash-hit show Love/Hate will return to screens after 12 years.

The Irish actor, best known for his role as Patrick Ward in the Irish crime drama, made the surprise new season claim on The Six O’Clock Show tonight.

The show which is set in Dublin’s criminal underworld, focuses on rivalries within the crimegangs and quickly became a hit with viewers across Ireland when it was first released back in 2010.

It then ceased filming back in 2014 leaving fans absolutely devastated.

When asked about the possibility of a new instalment of the show, John told host Brian Dowling: “Yes, it is coming back. It’s going into production later this year.

“It’s an exclusive but I wasn’t meant to say it till tomorrow,” he added.

“I’m being serious, hand on my heart.”

And although John could not give away any of the plot, he did reveal that his character, Patrick Ward, would be involved.

Despite John’s claims that the show is returning, RTÉ has since said it has “no plans” for a new series of Love/Hate.

Following the interview, John then shared a video on his Instagram account insisting that Love/Hate would return, but not on RTÉ.

He said: “It’s not on RTÉ it’s on Netflix. They’re bringing it back a bit like what they did with Top Boy.

“I’ll give you a little exclusive on it, we’re shooting back-to-back seasons, season six and season seven,” he added.

Well, there you have it!
