Laura Whitmore Just Revealed Her Favourite Love Island Contestant Of All Time

Think you know who it is?

The excitement for the summer season of Love Island is beginning to drum up. With talks that the show might be back filming in that gorgeous Spanish villa, to talks that it’s apparent backup location in The Channel Islands could be called into action if the pandemic doesn’t allow travel, there’s still a lot up in the air, but one thing is for certain, ITV is determined to get the show back on the road.

After taking a hiatus last year for the summer series, it’s safe to say that the show was missed, with our last helping coming in January 2020 when the winter series debuted in South Africa. A season where Paige Turley and Finn Tapp were crowned Love Island winners.

Yep, that feels like YEARS ago.

Now, as the show will hopefully return this June for an extended season in the sun, Laura Whitmore caught up with Dublin’s 98FM’s Big Breakfast with Rebecca and Brendan to discuss all things season seven.

As the host of the last season and now, the confirmed host of the next summer season, Laura admitted that her favourite singleton to ever grace the villa actually entered the year before she presented the show. Confessing that its none other than fellow Irish gal, Maura Higgins.

“One of the best contestants ever, from someone who was a fan watching the show was Maura Higgins. Her personality, I mean – she’s stunning, but her personality and counter balancing her personality with other people’s personalities, I think that’s really important,” Laura continued while speaking about the process of finding the right people to go on the show.

Adding that the show can go through up to 50 Islanders during some seasons, Laura added that the casting team are great at picking people they believe will add value to the show, as well as choosing people that seem like a good fit as the series progresses.

Well, one thing’s for sure, whether it’s Spain, The Channel Islands or elsewhere, we can’t wait for this show to come back in any capacity.

Bring it on.
