Piers Morgan left his panel discussion during Good Morning Britain today after his behaviour was branded ‘diabolical’ by co-host Alex Beresford.

Following Monday’s show, where Piers left a scathing review of Harry and Meghan’s interview special with Oprah, the TV host made a lot of controversial remarks including that he believed Harry “couldn’t let it go” in regards to the death of his mother, Diana. Comparing him to William, Piers noted that the Duke of Cambridge “went through the same thing and he’s managed to come to terms with the media and he works with the media”.

Continuing with more controversial remarks on air, Piers also noted that he doesn’t believe claims that Meghan wasn’t helped by the palace when she was struggling with her mental health. Adding that if this is true, he needs “names” of those in the wrong to believe her accusations.

Similarly so, Piers said the same thing with regards to the racist remarks the couple admitted to receiving about their unborn son’s skin tone. Piers noted that the Sussexes could prevent a lot of “damaging rumour-mongering” if they admitted who “was allegedly racist to Harry about his baby”.

Then today, on the show, co-host Alex Beresford called out Pier’s remarks over the past two days, adding that he has to be more sensitive when talking about people’s mental health and stop continuing to “trash” Meghan, who has clearly been hurt by damaging headlines in the press.

“And I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or had one and she cut you off.

“She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off?

“I don’t think she has but yet you continue to trash her…” explained Alex on live TV.

Comments that infuriated Piers, the host stood up and left the set.

“OK, I’m done with this. Sorry, no… sorry, can’t do this…” said Piers as he walked off. With Alex noting his actions as “diabolical”.

Talking to Twitter, Piers later explained that he needed some time to “cool down”, but added that he’s happy he left the set as the debate that followed was “very strong” and worth some “family tension” among the panel.

Continuing, Piers also noted that he wasn’t going to sit there listening to “colleagues call me diabolical.”

The ITV hosts comments over the past two days have drawn concern from mental health charities, including Mind in the UK who said they are “disappointed” over Piers’ stance on Meghan’s confession over her health.
