The Ellen DeGeneres Show Is Allegedly Struggling To Book A-List Guests

"I wouldn’t set up anyone on her show right now,"

The Ellen DeGeneres show has been back on our screens since September, following an outburst of toxic work environment allegations against the show, and Ellen herself, over the summer.

According to BuzzFeed News, who spoke to a source “with knowledge of the situation” the show is seemingly struggling to book A-list guests and that it’s losing its ratings and advertisers, which in turn, makes it more difficult for the show to create content. “We’re trying to be a content house, but we have no content,” they continued.

Furthermore, publicists who spoke to BuzzFeed News feel that their clients are wary of appearing on the show. “I wouldn’t set up anyone on her show right now to do anything that could possibly cause them more negative headlines,” one anonymous speaker said.

“You have to tread so carefully with your clients and your clients’ reputations, so you don’t want to put your client in any line of fire sympathizing with someone that any community or anyone would feel bad about. We’re not going to align anyone with Ellen.”

Although, another source close to the show claims that there’s “no difficulty booking talent,” while another publicist said, “The feedback we’ve been getting is that Ellen is no longer a first choice for talent.”

In other news, Us Weekly has also reported that Ellen herself has tested positive for coronavirus. She tweeted, “Hi Everyone, I want to let you all know that I have tested positive for COVID-19.

“Fortunately, I am feeling fine right now, anyone who has been in close contact with me has been notified and I am following all proper CDC guidelines.”
