The Harry Potter Reunion Made One Huge Mistake

We all sat down to watch the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts on New Years Day, we laughed, we cried (a lot) and we reminisced on all the magic that Hogwarts and its residents have brought us over the years.

One thing we did not do however, was notice this huge mistake during the special.

During a segment when Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the series, was describing her love of the books as a child, an image of the actress as a youngster popped up on our screens. The problem is, that this adorable child in Minnie Mouse ears isn’t actually Emma Watson at all!

The picture was of another famous Emma as a child, Emma Roberts! Although she did look quite like Emma Watson in the snap, eagle eyed fans pointed out that the wrong Emma was shown in the special.

Producer’s from the show assured fans they would fix the problem in a statement given to Entertainment weekly, “Well spotted Harry Potter fans!…You brought an editing mistake of a mislabeled photograph to our attention. New version up shortly,” they said.

That was not the only mistake that was spotted in the show, actor Oliver Phelps realised that he and his brother James’ names were mixed up during the special.

The brothers played Fred and George Weasley and blamed their pranks for the mistake, with Oliver writing, “I guess after all those pranks over the years somebody decided to get their revenge. It was fantastic to be part of the HP reunion. Hope you all enjoyed it. #ReturnToHogwarts”
