The Normal People X Fleabag Crossover We Never Knew We Needed
It was all in aid of RTE's Comic Relief.
Ever since the series finale of Normal People, all we have wanted is more. Every Zoom call we’ve had for weeks now has ended up with a debate over whether Connell and Marianne break up or stay together.
Although we didn’t quite get the answers we were craving, we did get our Sally Rooney fix last night on RTE’s Comic Relief. The program was aired to raise money for all the charities that have been affected by Covid-19.
We saw numerous singers including Hozier and Niall Horan perform on the night as well as multiple comedians performing sketches, lip sync battles and hilarious operas. However, the highlight of the night was seeing Daisy Edgar Jones and Paul Mescal reunited as our favourite, if slightly dysfunctional, couple.
Connell, Marianne and a certain Hot Priest meet in a confessional — all for a great cause. Donate to @RTE & @RTEOne‘s #RTEComicRelief now: https://t.co/fXIbEn0Ppy pic.twitter.com/nWycAQlH5K

A sketch of the pair was aired, but it wasn’t as straight froward as just Connell and Marianne. Instead, Andrew Scott was also involved, playing his now infamous character of the ‘hot priest’ from Fleabag. It’s the crossover we never knew we needed.
The sketch shows Connell going to confession, as does Marianne and it seems they haven’t got any better at communicating. Andrew Scott gets them singing instead, which as well as being hilarious also shows off Paul Mescal’s amazing singing voice.

Special shoutout goes to the Connell’s chain, which is arguably the biggest star of Normal People.
It was nice to see it – we mean them- back on our screens again!
