Yes, it’s true. The time has finally come, Shania Twain is realising her very own documentary!!!

Called, “Not Just A Girl”, it will take viewers from her humble beginnings in Timmins, Ontario, where she was “raised poor” and follows her as she signs to a label in Nashville and meets her future producer and husband Robert “Mutt” Lange.

Directed by Joss Crowley, it will feature an array of never before seen interviews with Shania, as well as interviews with stars including Taylor Swift, Lionel Richie, Diplo, Orville Peck, Kelsea Ballerini, Bo Derek and more. Talk about star-studded or what!

Fans will also be treated to behind-the-scenes footage from studio sessions throughout the country singer’s career and will be taken through her vocal cord struggles, which started after she contracted Lyme disease back in 2003.

However, that’s not all we’re getting from the singer as in addition to the documentary, Shania will release a compilation album entitled “Not Just a Girl (The Highlights)” via Mercury Nashville/UMe, which includes a new bonus title track, alongside some of her biggest hits in order of appearance in the documentary!!

It’s been five years since the country-pop superstar unleashed her comeback LP “Now” but eagle-eyed fans were quick to pick up hints that new music might be expected this year, with one fan sharing to Twitter that she was happy at the prospect and Shania herself even reposting the message with an added winking face emoji.

Shania also took to Instagram earlier this year, where she shared how important music is to her and how it’s her biggest achievement saying, “Music has been a part of my survival. Music was my escape, it inspired and encouraged me to stay strong and to keep my head up.”

Regarding how long you have to wait to watch her brand new documentary.. well not long at all, as it airs tomorrow, the 26th of July on Netflix. That’s tomorrow’s plans sorted so!
