These 3 Apps Are Responsible For Draining All The Data On Your Phone
That explains the nasty bill then.
Another month, another major phone bill thanks to blitzing through your entire data allowance in about three days. Sound familiar?
Well, if you’re fed up with all your data being eaten up speedy fast, it may help to know that according to Opera Max there are three main apps that are to blame. They are Facebook Messenger, Gmail and WhatsApp.
But it’s not just as simple as shutting all those apps off. Nuh-uh, Opera Max revealed that more than 50% of the data WhatsApp uses occurs when it’s running in the background, while 73% of Facebook Messenger and Gmail’s data usage happens when the apps are inactive.
In total, up to 30% of our data usage is from apps running in the background.
So what can you do about it? Well aside from deleting the apps in question, not a lot really. The only thing we would suggest? Flick your phone onto airplane mode whenever you can and always have background app refresh set to off.
