These Are The Most Romantic Counties In Ireland, Apparently

The month of romance is upon us, and if you’re anything like us, you’ll already have a whole host of plans to keep you busy this February.

Romantic dinners, romantic move nights, romantic strolls around the city desperately trying to find a bar quiet enough to get a drink in when you accidentally forgot to book somewhere.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and we’re all about all things romance. Well, to an extent.

As it turns out, apparently some counties in Ireland are a lot more romantic than others. In fact, there’s a top 10 list, and it goes like this.

Here are the top 10 most romantic counties in Ireland: 

1. Carlow
2. Mayo
3. Westmeath
4. Clare
5. Roscommon
6. Donegal
7. Cork
8. Laois
9. Meath
10. Waterford

The research has been released by ALDI as part of their Valentine’s Day survey, and shows that the above counties come out on top when it comes to romance.

The survey also showed that 82 percent of couples are planning to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, with 41 percent of people happy to mark the occasion at home.

Gen Z are taking the crown as the most loved up generation, with 55 percent of those aged 18-24 using Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to express their love. 

What’s more is that 42 percent of people plan to buy a gift for their significant other this Feb 14 – lovely.
