This Dublin Bar Is Inviting All Singletons to ‘Shred Your Ex’ At Its Annual Anti-Valentine’s Party

Don’t really feel like sitting in and feeling sorry for yourself this Valentine’s weekend? The Liquor Rooms’ annual Shred Your Ex Anti-Valentine’s Day Party is back again for all those who have been unlucky in love.

Next Friday the 15th of February, The Liquor Rooms on Wellington Quay is holding a night especially for scorned lovers, old flames and anyone still holding onto a little resentment towards their ex to enjoy a night of games, drinks and (hopefully) closure.

Bond with fellow singletons over some cocktails while taking part in some of the gas activities the bar has planned.  Guests are encouraged to bring old photos of their ex-partners which they can have shredded by the bar staff, because nothing is too dramatic. 

There will also be a chance to win complimentary drinks and spot prizes on the night for those who share their most heinous breakup stories with the empathetic bar staff, which are then read aloud throughout the venue to a chorus of boos.

Guests can also bring in old mementos which once held so much meaning, such as teddy bears or tacky jewellery, and swap them for someone else’s unwanted gift – or just get rid of them all together! The Liquor Rooms makes sure that anything left behind is given a new home or donated to a local charity.

There will be lots of entertainment on the night from The Liquor Rooms’ house band and resident DJ, who will be spinning the best of upbeat heartbreak tunes to help you dance away the last shaky memories of your ex. There will also be live comedy acts on the night so you can laugh away the pain of your failed romances.

The event kicks off at 8pm and is free in, so get your gals together and laugh about all the crappy lovers you’ve encountered in the past. The worst thing that can happen is your ex showing up with a photo of you..wouldn’t that be something?
