This Is What Taylor Swift Had To Say Following Her Groping Trial Victory

She plans to help other women involved in sexual assault cases.

Taylor Swift has spoken out about winning her case against radio DJ David Mueller, whom she claimed groped her bottom while at a meet’n’greet in 2013.

He denied groping the singer, and tried to sue her for $3 million in compensation because her accusation cost him his job. However, Taylor stood her ground and counter-sued him for just $1.

After two years of trial proceedings, District Judge William Martinez threw out the claim, as David could not prove that the pop star had personally set out to damage his career.

Taylor said this following her victory, “I want to thank Judge William J. Martinez and the jury for their careful consideration,” she said, adding, “My attorneys Doug Baldridge, Danielle Foley, Jay Schaudies and Katie Wright for fighting for me and anyone who feels silenced by a sexual assault, and especially anyone who offered their support throughout this four-year ordeal and two-year long trial process.”

She also announced, “I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this. My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organisations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves.”
