This Proposal At Electric Picnic Is The Sweetest Thing You’ll See Today

The last day of Electric Picnic can get a bit grim, but this year it was filled with joy thanks to a gorgeous proposal.

In a moment that thrilled the crowd at Sunday’s Sing Along Social, Sean Carroll popped the question to his boyfriend of seven years, Mark Taylor.

The festival is very special for the couple, as Mark first asked Sean out there “in a tent in the Andy Warhol” campsite in 2012.

“We’ve gone back to EP every year since, except for one year, and it’s always our anniversary,” Sean tells us. “I’ve known from the beginning that I wanted to marry him, but the seven year mark felt right. I’ve had it planned for the last year, but didn’t know how.”

Then the perfect idea came to him. They’re both huge fans of the monthly singing parties at Sing Along Social, so Sean asked a friend if they’d be able to do a proposal on stage at their Electric Picnic gig.

And so, on Sunday at the Heineken Live Your Music stage, that’s just what happened.

I knew it would be really special, I just wanted to make him feel like the most special person in the world. When we arrived, I couldn’t believe the crowd… then Beyoncé came on and I knew it was next. It was worth it just to see his reaction.

Team STELLAR were there, and we can confirm that the audience went absolutely WILD when they realised what was happening.
