Three Christmas Cocktails To Get You In The Festive Spirit

‘Tis the season of good food, great company, and fabulous, festive cocktails.

We have all had our share of mulled wine, baileys over ice and hot whiskey, but 2023 is the year that we take our festive concoctions to the next level!

It’s time to get creative.

If you are looking to switch up from your usual holiday bevvy or want to impress with your mixologist expertise on girls’ night, then you have got to try out one if not all these viral Christmas delights.

Here’s three Christmas cocktail recipes that will lift your spirits high.

Winter Aperol Spritz

Ingredients for Cocktail

– Aperol

– Spiced cranberry syrup

– Prosecco

– Sparkling/ Soda water

– Twig of rosemary

 

Ingredients for Ice Cube

– Orange Slice

– Cranberry

– Cinnamon stick

– Rosemary

 

Steps

1. Fill a large, cubed icetray with water, adding a slice of orange, some cranberries, a cinnamon stick, and a twig of rosemary to each.

2. Leave to freeze overnight.

3. Place your festive ice cube into a large wine or stem glass.

4. Add 50ml of Aperol and 25ml of spiced cranberry syrup.

5. Top with a prosecco of your choice followed by a dash of sparkling or soda water.

 

Mistletoe Margarita

Did somebody say tequila? There’s nothing like a good old margarita to get you in the merry mood and this winter speciality is sure to have you feeling jolly!

Ingredients for Cocktail

– Tequila

– Cointreau

– Fresh lime juice

– Cranberry Juice

 

Garnish

– Sugar

– Salt

– Lime juice

– Orange slice (dried)

– Cranberries

 

Steps

1. Pour 50 ml of tequila, 20 ml of Cointreau, 20 ml of fresh lime juice and 50 ml of cranberry juice over ice and into your cocktail shaker.

2. Shake for 60 seconds

3. Place the rim of a lowball cocktail glass or a traditional margarita glass into lime juice and then into a mixture of salt and sugar to give those frosty winter vibes.

4. Pour cocktail mix over ice and into the glass.

5. Decorate with a dried slice of orange, cranberries and voilà! The magical Christmas combo of a Cosmo and margarita.

 

White Christmas Mojito

Ingredients for Cocktail

– Sugar

– Mint

– Fresh Lime Juice

– White rum

– Coconut rum

– Coconut Milk

– Soda Water

 

Garnish

– Mint

– Pomegranate

– Powdered/ Icing Sugar

 

Steps

1. Add a tablespoon of sugar, mint and 25ml of fresh lime juice to the bottom of the shaking glass and pound.

2. Add 50 ml of white rum, 30 ml of coconut rum and 60 ml of coconut milk.

3. Add ice and shake.

4. Pour into a tall glass of your choice.

5. Top with soda water or sprite if you like your cocktail a little sweeter

6. Decorate with a stem of mint leaves, pomegranate and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.

There you have it, Christmas in a glass.
