Unfold at London Fashion Week Showcases Awesome Irish Design Talent
Irish design more than held its own at LFW and we were there to watch some of our favourites launch their S/S'16 collections at fashion week. #proud
It’s fashion week (heck, it’s fashion month) and right now, London’s the focus. And part of that is Unfold, which sees 11 Irish design talents shine their lights at London’s ICA. NATALIEBCOLEMAN, We Are Islanders, Manley, Jill de Burca, Helen Steele, Honor Fitzsimons,Chupi, dorai, Laura Kinsella, Martha Lynn and Capulet & Montague are all showing S/S’16, so we nipped along last night to beam with pride and take in our home-grown, world class talents.
Martha Lynn: This gal’s got it down. If we could wear her pieces everyday we would, each season is stronger and stronger.
Natalie B Coleman: the theme is support your local girl gang; we’re talking ripped denim and the most delightful embellishments.
We are Islanders: Dee talks through the collection, inspired by a mythical island Hy Brasil, which was thought to be off the coast of Ireland and even appeared on ancient maps. The brand is all about telling a story, quality and ethical producing.
Chupi: we’re huge fans, and her new collection doesn’t disappoint. We’re seeing heavier pieces with even more design detail for S/S’16.
Manley: Manley is staying true to its slick, polished approach, but this season sees the introduction of colour pops. We’re madly in love and want it to be summer already.
Laura Kinsella: Dreamy headpieces in the most clean crisp styles – we want a reason to dress up, stat.
