Have Zara McDermott and Sam Thompson split up?

Are they simply taking some time apart? Have they just not been posting each other on social media but everything is actually okay?

Rumours surrounding the pair’s potential break up following their five year relationship began before Christmas as they seemingly spent less and less time together.

This only became more apparent over the festive period as Sam went on nights out with friends and Zara stayed at home. The couple also spent New Year’s Eve apart.

A source confirmed to MailOnline recently that the pair had called it quits, saying: “Sam and Zara have ended their relationship. It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for them to part ways, they still care and have a lot of love for each other.

“’But after a tough year of working hard at their romance, they have split and will be focusing on their individual careers going forward into 2025.

“There has been no scandal or fallout between them, it’s just the result of a difficult year, where they both had to spend a lot of time focused on their own projects.”

The pair have yet to comment on the alleged split, but Sam did take to Instagram to wish his followers a Happy New Year on Wednesday morning.

“The new year’s going to be amazing,” he said. “You’re going to have the best year ever, and you know I’m never wrong, I’m always right.”

Sam had spent the previous night out celebrating with his Made in Chelsea friends, including Reza Amiri-Garroussi and Josh Patterson at London’s Kensington Roof Gardens.

Zara, meanwhile, posted from home where she was enjoying a night in with her cats, Albus and Cedric.

The pair were last seen together in December celebrating Zara’s birthday, when Sam posted that Zara was his “soulmate.”

Before that, they had spent a lot of time apart as Sam shot I’m a Celeb: Unpacked in Australia, and Zara worked on her BBC documentaries and clothing line, Rise.
