As I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! takes over our tellies once again, we’re taking a trip down memory lane to revisit the wildest moments in the show’s history. 

From romances blossoming to basic education to Lady C just in general, here’s the craziest moments from over the years.

Gillian McKeith Faints – 2010

This one has to be number 1 on our list – a scene that went down in I’m a Celeb history as one of the most dramatic reality TV moments we’ve ever seen on our screens.

Gillian McKeith fainted after Ant and Dec broke the news that she had been voted to take part in a Bushtucker Trial… again.

Gillian was labelled a fabulous actress following the incident by the public.

Gemma Collins quits after 72 hours – 2014

Gemma may have only lasted 72 hours in the jungle, but her brief stint still earned her a spot on our list—a testament to just how hilarious she is.

Despite skipping every single Bushtucker trial and even passing on the iconic helicopter entry, Gemma certainly made her mark.

From the very first 20 minutes on screen, she captured our attention, sitting in the front seat of the chopper with mascara streaming down her face—a moment so dramatic it ultimately led to her being privately driven into the jungle. Gemma left the show in a very emotional way, stating, “I have to start living my life the way I want to live it, and this is not it.”

Lady C – 2015

That’s all we need to say in regards to the next TV gold moment on our list. Lady C could probably have an entire list herself, to be quite honest, but we’ve picked out some of her best and most explosive moments, from her flirtations with Ant and Dec to her warfare with campmates over the fire.

One of Lady C’s most shocking moments came when she flatly refused to participate in a trial, citing its unsettling resemblance to a traumatic incident involving her cousin being buried alive.

It’s safe to say that Lady C did not favour many of her campmates at all and outright hated a few of them. Here’s a list of some of the remarks she made over her time in camp:

She called Duncan Bannatyne a “vain old goat who can barely speak English,” as well as one of our personal favourites: “a chippy oik with the brains of a pea and the mouth of diarrhoea.”

She referred to 61-year-old singer Tony Hadley as “a fat slob” and said, “He doesn’t have a brain in his head.”

Next was choreographer Brian Friedman, whose insult was actually quite creative—credit where it’s due to Lady C: “You have verbal diarrhoea; not only do you have verbal diarrhoea, you are so full of s**t that if you ever took an enema, you would disappear off the face of the earth without trace.”

Strawberry Gate – 2017

A moment shocked everyone, when boxer Amir Khan and broadcaster Iain Lee did the unthinkable—they devoured the strawberries and cream meant for their campmates on their way back from a trial.

The duo polished off the dessert and returned to camp, feigning failure in the trial to cover their tracks.

This also ties into the ongoing Iain Lee and Rebekah Vardy scandal, which has been making headlines recently, particularly with Rebekah’s rival, Coleen Rooney, currently appearing on the show.

Vardy faced accusations of bullying Lee during their time on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! The feud extended to social media, with Rebekah even releasing screenshots of their private messages.

Katie Price and Peter Andre – 2004

Katie’s first appearance on the TV show back in 2004 gave birth to one of the most iconic TV romances in television history: the Peter and Jordan romance.

This was quite a scandal at the time, considering Katie was in a relationship outside of the jungle, and Peter was very keen on Katie during their time there.

However, perhaps all wasn’t as it seemed on Peter’s part, as a recent online video has resurfaced in which Katie tells another campmate that Peter coerced her into playing along with the romance by telling her, “The only way we can stay in this show longer is if we do that.”

Nonetheless, the two continued the romance after the show before divorcing in 2009.

Kim Woodburn v Katie Price – 2009

Or rather, Kim Woodburn v herself in this scenario. Back in 2009, Miss Woodburn and Katie Price being placed in the jungle together was absolutely genius.

In an explosive and unexpected moment, Katie asked the campmates what they expected her to be like, and Kim erupted into an unnecessary tirade about Katie’s character. The clip recently resurfaced on TikTok, with many users claiming Kim was outright jealous.

Joey Essex learns how to tell the time – 2013

Oh, Joey, how we miss you learning basic education on television. Those were the days!

Let’s just say Joey didn’t exactly dismantle The Only Way Is Essex stereotype during his jungle stint, but we loved him even more for it.

Throwback to when his jungle romance, Amy Willerton, taught him how to tell the time on a clock… or when he spotted a lizard on the rope bridge and mistook it for a dragon!

Needless to say, dragons don’t actually exist, but Joey hadn’t figured that out yet…

Nadine Coyle teaches Caitlyn Jenner Girls Aloud choreo – 2019

This wouldn’t be a STELLAR article if we didn’t give a shoutout to one of our own. Miss Nadine Coyle, the Northern Irish pop legend, made an appearance on the show back in 2019 and, in classic Girls Aloud fashion, gave the campmates a special dance tutorial.

This turned into one of the most random crossovers in I’m a Celeb history: Caitlyn Jenner and Nadine Coyle swaying hip to hip to ‘The Promise.’ We’re not sure if Caitlyn actually knew Girls Aloud or the significance of Nadine, but nevertheless, it was a moment in I’m A Celeb history.
