There is Audrey Hepburn biopic in the works but who will have the honour to portray her? Lately there has been rumours floating around that Ariana Grande or Lily Collins will star in the upcoming film. Well, it seems that neither will be stepping into the role.

Actress Rooney Mara is reportedly set to play the legendary Breakfast at Tiffany’s and My Fair Lady star. The movie will be directed by Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino. Some of Guadagnino’s other projects include Challengers and Call Me by Your Name, so we are excited to see how he will bring Hepburn’s life to the big screen!

Rooney Mara was born in Bedford, New York in 1985. She is married to Joker (2019) star Joaquin Phoenix. Her sister Kate Mara is also an actress and was in Netflix’s drama House of Cards.

Some of Mara’s other projects include The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Nightmare Alley, and Carol. The actress has also produced movies like Stutz and has been a costume designer in the past. She is due to produce this new biopic on top of starring in it.

Over the years, Mara has been nominated for many awards including 2 Oscars and 2 Golden Globes. She has won multiple awards such as Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival.

It is clear that there is a strong resemblance between Rooney Mara and Audrey Hepburn. The pair share green eyes, dark hair, and thick eyebrows. Both actresses have a sharp facial structure and the same pale doll-like skin. There is no doubt that they look a great bit alike.

In 2018, Mara was made the face of Givenchy’s perfume L’Interdit eau de parfum Rouge. During an interview about the scent, Rooney Mara said,Givenchy has always been my favourite brand, and I’ve always felt I could really be myself wearing their clothes. It seemed like a perfect partnership.”

The perfume was a reimagined version of an original scent made by Givenchy in 1957. Interestingly enough, the perfume was created specifically for Audrey Hepburn herself!

Hepburn was known for wearing a lot of stunning pieces from Givenchy in her time. Her iconic ‘little black dress’ from Breakfast at Tiffany’s was made by Hubert de Givenchy. What’s more is that Mara attended a Women Who Dare event in 2014 wearing a little black dress created by Givenchy as well. Both actresses clearly share the same love for the iconic fashion house.

Hepburn’s most well-known hairstyle is a neat updo with a short fringe or micro bangs on display. In the past (whether it was intentional or not), Rooney Mara has attended red-carpet events sporting this same hairstyle.

The similarities in style between the two actresses indicate that Mara almost manifested her role in this new biopic.

Based on her previous projects, it is obvious that Mara is an incredible actress. Hopefully she will live up to expectations and embody Audrey as best as she can.

Do you do think she is the correct choice for the role?
