Why Did Britney Spears Delete Her Instagram?

It sparked a lot of concern among fans

Britney Spears has sparked concern amongst her 30million followers after mysteriously disappearing off the photo-sharing app Instagram, just days after announcing her engagement to boyfriend Sam Asghari.

The disappearance was first noticed by fan account (@Britneysgram), a hugely popular page that shares an insight into Britney’s life and keeps fans updated on her conservatorship battle. Sharing a screenshot of the deleted page they said:

“B’s account has apparently been deleted… we have only ever followed @britneyspears so it’s very weird to see that we are following 0 people”

“What is going on? We hope she just wanted a break from social media which is understandable… or was this someone else’s doing?”

In the comments section many fans took to speculating about her sudden disappearance, hoping that the singer is okay.

“What if B wants to start over with a new Instagram… has Cassie been fired??” one said.

While another commented: “This does not seem good tbh”

But, it didn’t take long for Britney herself to clear up any concerns her beloved fans may have. Taking to Twitter instead, Britney explained that she wanted to take some time away from social media to enjoy her engagement.

While most people were happy to hear the news, the people behind Britney’s fan account are still a little skeptical, posting:

“Lord knows we all need a social media break from time to time… but it doesn’t seem like B was ever the one posting to her Twitter so this tweet isn’t as comforting as we’d hope”

“Stay vigilant y’all”

Some fans fear that Britney’s break from social media comes as she faces repercussions from getting engaged. In a recent legal statement, Britney shared that she was unable to do the things she wanted to do like get married and have a baby due to her conservatorship

“I would like to progressively move forward and I want to have the real deal, (but) I was told right now in the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby.”

However, progress has been made in the #FreeBritney movement recently, with Britney’s father Jamie filing paperwork requesting the court to evaluate and consider scrapping his daughter’s conservatorship entirely.
