WOW! These Celebs Have Donated Thousands Of Dollars To Parkland’s March For Our Lives
"I am joining forces with you and will match your donation"
Some of America’s biggest celebrities have come forward to donate money to the Parkland Students’ March for Our Lives.
The March for Our Lives is being held to call for an end to gun violence after 17 students were killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida last week.
Oprah Winfrey is the latest celebrity to come forward and say that she will be donating $500,000 to the students’ march.
Winfrey’s announcement comes after George and Amal Clooney said they would march with the students and donate $500,000 in the name of their children Ella and Alexander to help pay for the event.
In a statement, the Clooney’s said: “Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country, and in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating $500,000 to help pay for this groundbreaking event. Our children’s lives depend on it.”
Oprah announced she would be matching the Clooney’s donation with a tweet.
George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives.’ These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.

The March for Our Lives will be held on March 24 in Washington, D.C., and student organisers say they want new legislation that will address gun violence.
In their mission statement, the group wrote: “Not one more. We cannot allow one more child to be shot at school. We cannot allow one more teacher to make a choice to jump in front of a firing assault rifle to save the lives of students. We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or text that never comes. Our schools are unsafe. Our children and teachers are dying. We must make it our top priority to save these lives.”
