5 Festival Style Lessons To Learn From Coachella
The hottest festival in town may be over, but the style lessons we learnt from it will last you right through the season.
Like us, your newsfeed has probably been bombarded with pics of boho-looking celebs rocking up to the Coachella festival in their best threads over the weekend. And just like us, you’ve probably been swooning away, wondering how you could look so boho-chic when you hit up Oxegen, Body & Soul or Electric Picnic this summer. Well, wonder know more fashion friends, because our fashion ed Linda Conway has flagged the five most deadly style lessons you can take away from Coachella, and incorporate into your own festival wardrobe. Yaysies. We’ll catch you in the portaloo queue, yeah?
Think you’ve got enough bracelets on? You’d be wrong, add about 4 more
It’s all about accessories, bbz. The rule? The more the merrier. Go hell for leather and adorn your arms in friendship bracelets, chains and charms.
Use cut-off shorts as a base for almost any look
They’re a festival staple, and for good reason. They’re comfy enough to dance around in for one, and they go with almost everything in your wardrobe.
Swimwear as outer wear is totally acceptable
Sure, we’re not in California and it might be a bit cold for this one in Ireland, but we reckon you can still rock your swimmers on the outside. Just pack your winter blanket scarf, throw it on over the top and you’re sorted.
Wear gold tattoo transfers, because when else can we do that?!
Not brave enough to hit up the Tattoo parlour? No panic, tattoo transfers give you that casual, hippy vibe, without the price tag, or the, um, laser removal.
Fringing is your best friend
There’s something about fringe that just screams festival, are we right? A fringe waistcoat or pair of boots will amp up your festival get-up. Plus you’ll be on point for summer’s biggest trend; ’70s. Huzzah.
