Love Island’s Olivia & Marcel React To Their Dumping Last Night

Olivia Hawkins and Marcel Somerville have been dumped from the Love Island All Stars villa. 

The pair exited the show on Wednesday night’s show together after being voted the least compatible couple by the public.

Here’s what they had to say about their dumping and their time in the South African villa. 

Marcel

How are you feeling?

It’s obviously bittersweet. Being in the Villa and getting to know everyone, it was a lovely time. I really enjoyed my time in there. Getting to know Olivia was really nice as well. But obviously I’m gonna be back home and I’ll get to see my little boy sooner rather than later, that’s a very exciting thing for me, I can’t wait! I had a dream about him last night so I can’t wait to get back and see the little man.

What was your reaction to being dumped last night?

I was a little bit taken by surprise as I wasn’t aware of the other stuff that was going on, regarding Olivia and Luca, so I was a little bit surprised. But, me and Olivia felt like we both had a good connection in there. To be chosen as the least compatible was a bit odd for me, but at the same time there are a lot of strong couples in there.

How are things between you both – what do you think the future holds?

Me and Liv are still gonna get to know each other and see how things pan out, it’s still quite early days, we’ll see what happens, I’m looking forward to it.

You reached a really nice place with Gabby and were supportive of one another, what are your thoughts on Gabby and Casey?

I’m super happy for Gabby and Casey – honestly I’ve known Casey for a while and me and Gabs we have history, I’m hoping that Casey is the right guy to give Gabs that happiness that she deserves.

How would you sum up your Love Island: All Stars experience?

It took me a little while to get back into Villa life but then once I was in Villa life, I was back to being Marcel. Obviously sometimes things don’t end how you expect them to but that’s life!

Best memory of your time in the villa?

I’m gonna miss Curtis and Nas a lot as we were deemed ‘the mature guys’ – we had a great bond in there.

Which couples are you backing?

If I was going to rank the top 3 couples I’d say Ekin-Su and Curtis are up there, I’d say Gabby and Casey are up there too and my third pick would have to be Ronnie and Elma – I really like them together. Ronnie is one of my favourite guys there, he’s funny – he can be reckless but I think they do have a really good connection there so I’m rooting for them.

Who would you like to win? 

If I was gonna vote for anyone, either Ekin-Su and Curtis or Catherine and Nas. I dunno if they’re as far down the line as the other couples but as individuals and when they are together, they have the best energy they’re amazing people. Nas is a level headed amazing guy and Catherine is the sweetest girl so I hope they go far. There’s a few more weeks to go so who knows what’s gonna happen!

How are you feeling?

I feel good. It’s a weird feeling, horrible to leave the friendships you made behind but I’ve left with Marcel so I guess I came and I got what I wanted, so I can’t complain!

What was your initial reaction to the dumping?

When our names got called I actually wasn’t that surprised, I did think after the whole chat with Luca that it was a possibility. I think all 3 couples in the bottom deserved to be there and I just believe that whatever happens, happens and if it was my time to go then it was my time to go.

How are things between you both – what do you think the future holds?

Yeah really good, he’s so sweet, it’s still really early days. It’s nice that we’re out now and we can get back home and give each other our numbers and start texting and dating as you would on the outside but still navigate stuff together.

We saw a bit of confusion with you and Luca – but all seemed to be put to bed in tonight’s episode…

Yeah, we live in the same area and we were friends before and it was just that was probably the one person I didn’t want to fall out with, but we left on a really nice note I’m really excited to see his journey with Grace.

We loved seeing you and Curtis practise some dance lifts! Was that fun in there? Something you want to do more of? 

Absolutely, I was dancing with him, I was singing with everyone, I think everyone was so shocked that I could sing. I guess I never really post about it! As soon as I get home I want to get back into Musical Theatre, potentially West End stuff. I feel like I lost a passion for it, and I’m turning 30 this year so this is the best time for me to do it.

How would you sum up your Love Island All Stars experience?

Short but sweet! It’s unbelievable to do it a second time and I’m massively grateful that I’ve made friends for life and memories that I’ll cherish forever.

What will you miss the most?

Everyone in there – every single person is so lovely and I connected with all of them, especially Ekin-Su and Curits. I’m going to miss them both and I’ll be rooting for them all the way.

Any thoughts on couples that are the real deal?

Ekin-Su and Curtis 100%! I’ll be shocked if anything comes between them. I just think they’re so suited. In terms of other couples it’s too early to say! I think they’re the most advanced but so much more can happen.

Who would you like to win? 

Ekin-Su and Curtis – I’ll be voting for them both!
