As a whole, few positive things have come out of 2020 so far. But in terms of beauty, we’ve had more time to concentrate on perfecting our skincare routines, play with new products and techniques, and of course, there’s been plenty of fabulous product and brand releases.

But it turns out, Vitamin C has been the most-searched-for skincare ingredient of 2020 so far. Who knew? Particularly as it’s not a new concept, but according to data from Cult Beauty, ‘What does vitamin C do for your skin?’ came out top in Google searches.

No, Vitamin C isn’t a new concept, but it’s a must-have in any skincare routine. According to Ole Henriksen, Vitamin C is one of the most hard-working ingredients. “It brightens, it illuminates, it acts as an inflammatory, plus, it diffuses literal imperfections while at the same time being calming and soothing but giving your skin that glow.”

So thanks to one little ingredient, you can expect your skin to look firmer, brighter, more healthy, and generally, happier. Not bad for one little product, eh?
