A Freaky Friday Sequel Is In The Works
The sequel we didn't know we needed!
It has been 20 years since the iconic 2003 body-swap comedy Freaky Friday and rumour has it that we are finally getting a sequel.
Stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are talking about gracing our screens one more time as a mother and daughter who wake up one Friday and find they have swapped bodies and we are so here for it.
Directed by Mark Waters, Freaky Friday was based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel, and grossed $160 million globally.
Now Curtis’s real life children are happily married and Lohan is pregnant with her first, but the actors have remained in touch over the years.

The movie has become such a classic that Curtis even told the New York Times that she continues to get questions about a sequel even in 2022 when she was promoting her horror film, Halloween Ends.
“Something really touched a chord. When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, ‘It feels like there’s a movie to be made,’” said Curtis.
And now that Lindsay is back in the acting world, it could be the perfect time. She was certainly one of the biggest stars of the era, and recently returned to the big screen with a two-picture deal with Netflix, including Falling for Christmas.
Jamie Lee Curtis was one of the first to congratulate her on her new film, taking to Instagram she shared the movie poster with the caption; “My little girl is all grown UP! @lindsaylohan.”

Lindsay also told the New York Times; “Jamie and I are both open to that, so we’re leaving it in the hands that be. We would only make something that people would absolutely adore.”
We know there is certainly a generation of people who grew up fuelled by Lindsay Lohan films, who are one hundred percent ready to see her face on the big screen again.
