Lewis Capaldi Forced To Postpone Shows Due To Illness

Lewis Capaldi has unfortunately had to cancel two of his shows on his 2023 world tour after being hit with a bout of bronchitis, a nasty infection causing inflammation in the lungs.

The Scot was due to play a show in Zurich and another in Milan, but was advised against it by a vocal doctor who instead promoted vocal rest for a minimum of 3 days, while he attempted to get over the illness.

He took to social media on Monday evening to let his fans know about the situation and said he was: “absolutely devastated to be typing this”.

His statement on twitter read: “As lots of you know, for the past few nights of the tour, I’ve been really struggling with my voice. Last night in Stockholm, I tried my best to sing through the show even with it feeling really uncomfortable because I was desperate not to let any of you down. I’ve just been to see a voice specialist in Sweden who’s told me I’ve got bronchitis and that I should be on vocal rest for at least three days to give me any chance of not damaging my voice and being able to continue touring”.

He noted that he has already secured new dates for the postponed gigs and is focusing on getting his voice back to what it usually is for the Barcelona show in a few days.

The Zurich show has been postponed to June 28th and Milan till the 31st May. Thankfully all original tickets will be valid for the two newly secured dates.

We wish you well in your recovery Lewis and can’t wait to see you back on stage singing your heart out.
