Teaser: Is Jenna Ortega Returning For You Season 5?

Jenna Ortega’s character Ellie Alves is just one of the many characters on Netflix’s hit tv show that Joe Goldberg has unfinished business with. So it only makes sense she would be rumoured to be making a return to the role for the fifth and final season, right?

Netflix released a brand new teaser trailer at their Tulum fan event on Saturday. However Penn Badgley revealed he couldn’t  say who we would be meeting again when it came to Joe’s past relationships. The actor said: “We all know there are many loose ends from Joe’s past. The question is, ‘Who are you?'”

During the teaser several clips of past characters were showcased including one of Jenna Ortega’s character Ellie during season two. Ellie and Joe met after the latter upped and moved to LA following some harrowing events in the lead up to his departure from New York. She became an unlikely friend to the stalker even becoming a mentee to him.

During an interview with Teen Vogue back in 2019, Jenna revealed she would love to bring Ellie back as long as she returned as a stronger character.

She said: “I don’t want her to come back and be extremely vulnerable and sad. We have to remember that even though people still find Joe somewhat charming, he’s evil, he does terrible things and he gets away with them because of his gender and race and his position in society.”

She continued adding: “It would be amazing to see Ellie come back and take control of her life,. She has so much potential and so much talent that she shouldn’t waste because of him.”

Although there has been no word on filming or release dates for the fifth and final season, we have plenty to rewatch and defamiliarise ourselves with the twisted mind of Joe Goldberg.
