Behind The Peter Mark VIP Style Awards Look: Rosie Connolly
She stepped out of her 'comfort zone' with this ruffled black gown.
The Peter Mark VIP Style Awards is the event of the year for all things beauty and fashion. It’s the night where the biggest celebs in Ireland come together to celebrate the most fashionable people in the country.
One of the gorgeous nominees STELLAR were lucky enough to chat to behind the scenes in Peter Mark and Inglot’s beauty room was the stunning Rosie Connolly. Having arrived with her makeup already done, Rosie talked us through her look and the vibe she was going for for the biggest event of the year.
Rocking a subtle smokey eye, Rosie explained that this isn’t the typical looks she usually goes for.
I usually go quite heavy with glitter and all that jazz, so I’ve gone a lot softer. I still wanted to be glam because it’s the VIP Style Awards. I’m trying to get a little bit of glam without being OTT. There’s lots going on with my dress so I didn’t want to do too much on the face and the hair.
As for the hair: “I never really do this but I’m going to do a sort of sleek, low bun.”
So what makeup essential can Rosie absolutely not go without?
“It’s mascara definitely, because I’m quite fair and I don’t tint my lashes. I’d literally bulk buy YSL The Shock Mascara in twenties if I could. I love it, I fly through it, I swear I must be eating it, it’s the best mascara I’ve ever used. That and an eyelash curler”.
Like all of us, Rosie loves a good nude lip. “I love Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips in the shade Legally Blonde. It’s not too drying but it’s still matte, I love it.”
Rosie’s final beauty tip for looking as fab as she does is skincare.
You always have to look after your skin. No matter how much money you spend on makeup or products, if your skincare isn’t right or if you’re not looking after your skin it’s not going to sit right. Forget makeup for a second and go back to your skincare. The most important part is the canvas, so treating your skin right makes the makeup go on so much better.
Rosie had her gorgeous nude acrylic nails done in Brown Thomas’ beauty lounge.
Now for the outfit. Rosie opted for something she described as “different” to her typical style. An Umit Kutluk original, the stunning black dress is short at the front with a train at the back. She paired the dress with a pair of gorgeous black heels.
On the gown, Rosie explained she never usually opts for something as “fluffy”. We’re happy she stepped out of her comfort zone because she looked amazing.
