Our Favourite Looks From Cannes Film Festival 2023

Obsessed

The 76th Cannes Film Festival is here and the stars are out in full force.

The annual soirée commenced with the premiere of the Louis XV period drama Jeanne du Barry starring Johnny Depp and Maïwenn.

Although the purpose of the festival is to celebrate this year’s ground-breaking cinema, we also really care about what our favourite celebrities are wearing.

Here are some of our fav looks so far.

1) Elle Fanning

We’re starting out with the princess herself, Elle Fanning, in a gorgeous tulle ball gown by Alexander McQueen.

This look literally sparkled across the carpet with a crystal-covered bodice and sequins sprinkled over the skirts. Finishing off the look with a layered pearl necklace, Elle’s look said “I’m a princess and I know it” and we agree.

2) Catherine Zeta Jones

The neckline! The sleeves! The colour!

We love it all and we love Catherine in this stunning crimson gown by Ellie Saab. Joined by her husband, Michael Douglas and daughter Carys, the trio are in the running for the best dressed family on the carpet.

3) Fan Bingbing

Fan Bingbing was queen of the jungle in her walking tiger ball gown by Christer Bu. The strapless gown and train were decorated with images of green foliage, tree bark and magnificent tigers, paired with mermaid earrings and a gorgeous green jewel ring.

This look is fierce.

4) Brie Larson

Chanel’s golden girl shone bright on the red carpet. The flowing layers of fabric synched with a structure embellished bodice and finished off with gorgeous gold details is the reason why Brie Larson remains a fashion icon.

5) Alessandra Ambrosio

Dressed in a stunning vintage Ellie Saab Haute Couture gown from 2005, the former Victoria Secret model was the definition of sparkle. Paired with a Pomellta handset asymmetrical necklace inspired by Milan’s groundbreaking architectural landscape, Alessandra was sparkling from head to toe.

6) Uma Thurman

Dressed in Dior, Uma Thurman turned heads in an understated blush-coloured gown paired with a pleated red opera coat and Chopard jewellery. This entirely satin ensemble was the picture of elegance.

7) Beatrice Borromeo

House ambassador Beatrice Borromeo embodied classic Italian artistry in a handmade Dior Couture Guipure dress by Maria Grazia Chiuri. The contrasting floral inlays and crochet-esque design is giving us flower power chic.

Paying homage to her culture, Saar Ari Khan looked like a goddess dressed in a hand-embroidered ivory lehenga set created by the designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep.

9) Naomi Campbell

It is all about the metallics with the iconic super model. Naomi Campbell graced the red carpet in a silver sequin Celine gown with a plunging neckline.

Paired with matching silver sequin shoes and Chopard accessories, the ’70s-style gown is giving disco fever and we are here to party.

10) Helen Mirren

It’s not just Helen Mirren’s blue hair that is making a statement at the opening of Johnny Depp’s new film at Cannes.  The actress stunned on lookers in her custom blue Del Core dress coordinated to perfectly to her new hair colour.

However it was last minute accessory which caught fans attention, as she was photographed holding a L’Oreal ‘#Worth It’ fan. The actress said in a statement that as an ambassador of the brand she picked up the fan because she was hot and wanted to cool herself down.

However, some have speculated that this is a subtle wave of support to co-ambassador Amber Heard.
