Princess Eugenie’s Wedding Gown Was Specially Made To Show The Scar From Her Spinal Surgery
Plus, all the fashion from our second royal wedding of the year.
Why have one royal wedding when you can have two? This morning, Princess Eugenie married her longterm partner Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel in Windsor (where her cousin Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed earlier this year).
Eugenie’s wedding gown was made by the London-based designer Peter Pilotto, and she specifically requested that it have a low back to show off the scar from surgery she had as a child.
The princess was diagnosed with scoliosis (curvature of the spine) and underwent corrective surgery at the age of 12, having two titanium rods inserted along her spine. In a pre-wedding interview, she said:
I think you can change the way beauty is, and you can show people your scars and I think it’s really special to stand up for that.
Fair play, Euge.
There was no shortage of celebrity guests at this wedding either – Eugenie’s mum Sarah Ferguson (AKA Fergie) showed up in fantastic hat that people are comparing to the Golden Snitch from Harry Potter:
Princess Beatrice, meanwhile, went for a royal purple:
Meghan Markle was pretty and demure in navy:
Kate Middleton was a vision in magenta:
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were on page boy and flower girl duties again:

Robbie Williams showed up with his wife Ayda Field:
Holly Valance (yes, 2000s pop star Holly Valance) was there with her husband, British property mogul Nick Candy:

Ugh, yes. Can we have another big royal wedding soon, please? Just for fashion-ogling purposes.
