5 Brunch Spots We Love (Pssst. They’re Not All In Dublin…)

The September Issue of STELLAR out now! Not only is it all about fashion, check out Olivia P on that cover below, but we also compiled a list of the best brunch spots across Ireland. Yes, every province gets a look-in, and we got all the hunger pangs compiling our Brunch Book. It’s seriously mouth-watering. Here are five places to whet your bacon-and-pancakes appetite before you pick up the issue.

Orso Kitchen & Bar, orso.ie, 8 Pembroke St, Cork

You need to be an early riser here, but this Moroccan-inspired menu is definitely doing something different. How does a breakfast manoushi with poached egg, black pudding, cheese and caramelised onion grab you? There’s lots more like that too – just be there before 11.30am.

Knox, knoxsligo.ie, 32 O’Connell St, Sligo

Weekend brunch is super-civil here and takes place from 12pm-4pm. Because Knox is a tapas bar, there’s a Mediterranean flavor coming through on some menu items, like the chorizo sausage with patatas bravas and baked eggs in tomato sauce. Oh, delish!

Hatch

Hatch and Sons, hatchandsons.co, 15 St Stephens Green, Dublin 2

Right below the Little Museum, this is a spot you can take your mother and she won’t look askance at the notions of it all. Proper, down home ingredients are served all day, like divine double-baked eggs and soda bread and the Waterford blaa with dry cured bacon is a thing of real beauty.

SLICE, asliceofcake.ie, 56 Manor Place, Stoneybatter, Dublin 7

The sister to Camden St’s culty Cake Cafe, Slice is now a Stoneybatter institution and you’ll need to get up early to grab a table (it’s only wee) for baked eggs, the very food (and on-trend) protein pancakes, delish homebaked beans and flavourful Bircher muesli.

The roast house

The Roast House, theroasthouse.ie, 3 Denny St, Tralee, Co Kerry

Pastries, pancakes, scones, veggie breakfast bakes and toasted bagels are all on the menu here. We’ll go for the bagel with scrambled eggs plus Killorglin smoked bacon and melted Mossfield Gouda cheese, please.

Check out the September issue now for more brunch spot tips!
