Cancel Those Beach Plans, The Weather Forecast Is Here For This Weekend
The weather gods giveth, and the weather gods taketh away.
We’ve been lead on a merry dance by the Irish weather gods this week. They granted us three days of glorious sunshine – including the HOTTEST day of the year so far – but now they’re changing their minds. In a big way.
After temperatures reached record highs of 30C on Tuesday, Met Éireann are forecasting a pretty grim few days between today (Thursday) and Monday.
If you’re living in the West, you might want to bring a raincoat with you today, as the wet weather is expected to kick off by the early afternoon, with a risk of flash flooding. Sigh.
As for the east of the country, it will still be relatively warm and humid today but by nightfall Leinster folks can also expect thundery showers.
Weather for Friday and the weekend is expected to be mixed, so while you might get a stroll on the beach between rain showers, we don’t suggest planning any BBQs or outdoor picnics.
If the rain does hold off, we can expect some “pleasant sunshine,” but it’ll be nothing like the scorching temperatures we had this week. Boooo.
So, that was the summer it turns out. Maybe we’ll get another blast of sun in for the August bank holiday? Start praying to those weather gods NOW, people.
