olive oil

Olive oil may seem like an odd fit food but two tablespoons a day can actually do wonders for your heart health. It’s packed full of mono-saturated fats, which have been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease. It also has the added benefit of reducing pain and swelling. We’ll be drizzling an extra teaspoon or two over our salads every lunch time.

3. Marmite

Marmite: you either love it or you hate, eh? We know it might not be everyone’s, er, cup of tea but if you’re trying to be super healthy you need to try this fit food, STAT. Why so? Well, its low in sugar and low in calories, it’s also packed full of protein and vitamins which help quickly break down carbohydrates, giving you optimum energy for the day. Yay!

4. Arame

It’s not the prettiest dish but if you can get passed its looks you’ll be able to reap some major benefits from this trendy new health food. It’s a sea vegetable and is packed full of vitamins and minerals essential for building up energy. If you’re not too into its flavour, simply add it into a soup or smoothie and you’ll get all of the benefits without even tasting it.

5. Kohlrabi

Although this veg looks a bit peculiar, it’s from the same family as broccoli and cauliflower and is very distinguishable because of its odd shape and vibrant colour. Kohlrabi is packed full of vitamin C and potassium and goes great in a stir-fry or salad. You can also use to make fritters with a twist. We’re sold!
