Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland Is Encouraging Irish People To Repeal The 8th
Maith an cailín!
With the referendum on the 8th Amendment fast approaching, many high-profile Irish names have encouraged Irish citizens to vote yes to repeal the amendment.
One of the most surprising people to come forward over the bank holiday weekend was Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland.
The 27-year-old star, who was diagnosed with kidney dysplasia as a child and has subsequently undergone ten surgeries including a kidney transplant, explained how the 8th Amendment would affect her in a tweet on Monday.
I am a woman. I am Irish. I have a slew of health complications that COULD put me in a situation where I would be forced to make a heartbreaking decision. If I was a resident of Ireland, the laws in place would kill me. I understand this all too well. #repealthe8th @Together4yes
