Day On A Plate: Model and Body-Positive Influencer Jessica Cinelli

We get the dish on what our faves eat in a day

Searching for some dinner inspo? Or maybe you just like a nose (gal after our own heart)! Either way, we have the scoop on what some of our faves dish up in a day. This month, it’s the turn of model and body-positive influencer Jessica Cinelli.

What is your go-to breakfast?

My go-to breakfast is a cappuccino! I’m so bad at eating breakfast because I’m usually rushing around getting my son ready and myself ready for work. When I do get a chance to eat something it’s usually porridge or scrambled eggs and toast.

What do you usually have for lunch and dinner?

Lunch is usually my first proper meal of the day so I tend to make it more of a brunch type thing. If I’m off work I’d go with eggs, turkey rashers, and avocado toast. But if I’m in work I love soup and a ham and cheese toastie. Dinner is nearly always pasta. All different types of pasta! My dad is Italian so I grew up eating pasta constantly.

What five items do you always put in your shopping basket?

Coffee pods – can’t survive without my daily dose of caffeine. Olive Oil, is always in my shopping basket. I love it. Again, being half Italian we eat it a lot. I swear it’s what keeps my hair and skin in good condition! Then mozzarella, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

What are your favourite snacks?

Mozzarella, tomato, and cucumber with olive oil drizzled on top and a bit of salt, pepper, and basil. It’s literally mine and my son’s favourite healthy snack to hace. My favourite treat kind of snack would be nachos and salsa. I’m much more of a salty, savoury kind of person than sweet.

What are the most used items on your spice rack?

Probably salt, I put it on everything. Or garlic. I use a lot of garlic too!

Your desert island dish?

It would have to be gnocchi. It’s my favourite thing in the world. I don’t think I could ever get sick of it. That or oysters.

Would you call yourself a foodie?

I don’t know if I’d call myself a foodie because I’m an awful cook. I do love food but cant make any of the food I love! haha.

How do you get motivated when it comes to fitness?

Motivation has been very hard to find this year with all the lockdowns. I’ve been so up and down when it comes to fitness. At the start of both lockdowns I as so motivated – exercising daily, going out on walks and cycles with my son. But as time passes and the weather gets colder and darker, it’s definitely getting harder to find the motivation.

When gyms are open it’s easier to be motivated. I like to just make it part of my routine so I’ll go straight to the gym regardless of if I’m feeling motivated or not, and then once I’m there on the treadmill the motivation kicks in and I always feel much better mentally after it.

Describe your ideal workout?

Honestly, my ideal workout would be a dance class. I danced ballroom and Latin growing up and always found dance to be such a good way to enjoy exercise. I’d love to try one of those twerking exercise classes they look so fun!

What is your number one self-care tip?

Listen to good music and dance around your room in your underwear! I always feel better after blasting some Lizzo while wearing new lingerie, honestly. I really think being kind to yourself and trying to train your brain to think positively is the best self-care.
