Blake Lively Says It Took A Team Of Three People To Get Her Back In Shape Post-Baby
'It's not normal to look like this eight months after giving birth.' WORD.
Blake Lively is all about keeping things real, and we love her for it. In fact, the actress just opened up about the extremes she had to take to shape up for The Shallows eight months after giving birth, and it’s one of the most refreshingly honest interviews we’ve read in a long while.
Rather than offer up some vague mutterings about “being so busy that the weight just fell off,” Blake revealed that the actual process was tough. Very tough. Working-out-13-hours-a-day kinds of tough.
“It took two different trainers and a nutritionist to help me get into that sort of shape,” Blake explained in a new interview with The Sun, adding that “it’s not normal to look like that eight months after having a kid.”
WORD.
Turns out too that even A-listers like Blake need a self-confidence boost after looking at photos of, well, other A-listers. The actress, who is currently expecting her second child, admitted that she would look at post-pregnancy snaps of Jessica Alba and wonder, “Why don’t I look like her after giving birth?”
As for the pressure on women to snap back into shape following a pregnancy, Blake admits her situation was somewhat unusual for a new mum.
“Women put pressure on themselves to look like a Victoria’s Secret model after having a baby. It’s absolutely absurd. It was my job to look that way,” she says.
Even during her second pregnancy, Blake has been dishing out the realness, posting last week about just how tough she’s finding the summer heat.
“It should be illegal to be pregnant in New York in July,” she told Jimmy Fallon. “I have to wear like, bondage. I swear, I’m going to make my water break just to cool down.”
Never change, Blake. <3
