5 Detoxing Foods You Should Add To Your Daily Diet

This month, instead of cutting foods out of our diet, we're focusing on adding the good foods back in.

1. Lemons

Lemon

Not only are these zesty fruits tasty, they’re also loaded with  Vitamin C, which is known to help your body detox and burn fat. We recommend drinking water with lemon every morning as a way to alkalise the body and aid your digestion. Lemons also help stimulate the liver and purify our blood.

2. Dark leafy greens

Another friendly influence to your eating habits are dark leafy greens. Make sure you get lots of green things in your diet – leafy greens, broccoli, cucumbers, celery, sprouts, dandelion teas, chlorella supplements, the list goes on. Aiding in detox, increasing oxygen content, and purifying the blood, greens are the essential building blocks of any healthy and vibrant diet. (Plus, they make you glow. We’re serious.)

3. Beets

So, we know that beetroot has some major health benefits; It fights inflammation for one, can reduce your risk of cancer, and is loaded with detoxifying and immune-boosting properties to boot. So, given that it’s good for us, we wanna scoff more of this brightly coloured veggie. Shredded raw beets are the best. Eat some on top of a big pile of greens with a sprinkle of lemon juice. Those toxins won’t even see it coming!

4. Ginger and garlic

Ginger and garlic are good mates to your  liver because they help it get rid of free radicals that are built up in the body. Make yourself a healthy stir-fry, and don’t be shy to season it with these two liver-loving foods.  Hot tip? If you feel under the weather, boost your garlic intake to really stimulate your immune system. See ya later toxins!

5. Green Tea

You should all know by now that green tea is a major source of antioxidants, one of which are catechins. Catechins increase liver function, which we want. Plus, drinking green tea aids us in hydrating our bodies. Get in two to three cups a day for the best benefits.
