7 Photos That Prove Michael Phelps’s Son Boomer Is The Real Star Of The 2016 Olympics

The Rio Olympics kicked off on Saturday, and true to form, US swimmer Michael Phelps has already had a first place win.

Phelps took home the gold for the United States as part of the mens’ 4x100m freestyle relay yesterday, the 22nd Olympic medal of his career.

Not bad, but let’s be honest here: it’s his three-month-old son Boomer who deserves the medal. Not only has he mastered the art of sleeping through most of his dad’s swim events despite being seated next to hordes of cheering fans, he’s also been rocking some seriously covetable stars ‘n’ stripes swag over the last few weeks.

Little Boomer was born in May, and with his dad qualifying for the Olympics when he was just five weeks old, it’s fair to say he’s definitely something of a good luck charm.
