Adele On Saturday Night Live Was Exactly What 2020 Needed

She performed a medley of some of her greatest hits.

If there’s one good thing to come out of 2020 so far, it’s Adele hosting Saturday Night Live. The singer announced last week that she’d be guest hosting SNL in an Instagram post saying; “Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified!”

“My first ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!! I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right. But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?”

As well as her epic voice, it’s well known that Adele is also hilariously funny, and she certainly showed off both of those skills while hosting the show.

We’ve missed hearing her sing live, and during a sketch mocking reality TV show, The Bachelor, Adele surprised the audience by breaking into song throughout.

She sang some of her biggest hits from Hello, Rolling in the Deep, When we were Young and Someone Like You.

The singer hasn’t been out of the press in recent months as earlier this year she shared a snap of her dramatic weight loss.

She addressed this jokingly in the opening segment to the show saying; “I know I look really, really different since you last saw me but actually, because of all the COVID restrictions and the travel bans, I had to travel light and only bring half of me — and this is the half I chose.”

Her appearance on the show sent Twitter into overdrive, as everyone seems to have collectively agreed that the star has saved 2020.

The only negative to the entire show was that she announced her next album is still not ready yet, roll on 2021!
