Angela Scanlon’s Latest Post Is A Reminder To Love Your Freckles

The presenter admitted that she used to hide her arms onscreen after receiving negative comments.

When I was a kid I absolutely hated my freckles. I’d google creams to lighten them, try weird home remedies and even look into getting them removed via a cosmetic procedure.

I just wanted plain, clear skin with no orange clusters, and this was before there were 5 million tan brands in the world.

Don’t get me wrong, I occasionally love a bit of tan when I’m feeling extra pasty, and if you’re a big tan fan there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it’s important to remember that you can also rock the natural look.

This is something Angela Scanlon perfectly explained in her latest Insta post after a troll slagged her freckles.

“Someone recently posted on here about my freckled milk-stems that they looked like “chicken skin” Bit harsh but reminded me about the first time I was on tele in UK and some fuck wit said the same thing “pity about the chicken skin legs,” she revealed.

Someone recently posted on here about my freckled milk-stems that they looked like “chicken skin” 😳 Bit harsh but reminded me about the first time I was on tele in UK and some fuck wit said the same thing “pity about the chicken skin legs” 🐓 It doesn’t bother me anymore because I just imagine the scrawny grease-bag scratching himself as his Mam calls him for his microwave dinner BUT it did at the time & it actually made me hide my freckly arms on screen for years. YEARS. I sometimes feel like I have to defiantly cling on to the see-through-ness. I don’t want to wear tan, I don’t want to cover my freckles, i don’t want your orange body foundation that doesn’t match my head, I don’t want your skin bleach, I actually love my polka-dot limbs so stick a chicken leg up your arse pal 🧡🙌🏻 🦁🔥

The TV presenter added that although she is more confident now, she previously covered them up after nasty comments.

Angela added that she doesn’t personally want to buy into any products to change her skin and that she’s learned to embrace her freckles.

Polka-dot limbs is definitely a phrase I will be using from now on.

Thanks Ange!
