Paul Mescal has had a spectacular rise to fame.

The Maynooth native went from eating sausages in a Denny’s ad to being nominated for an Oscar  – and sure, isn’t he the best man for it?

Now that he’s officially reached celeb status, Paul has been rubbing shoulders with some serious stars.

This not only tells us that he’s well on his way to being an A lister, but also that he’s extremely sound. Who’s surprised? Not us!

So who exactly is Paul adding to his list of famous pals? Let’s take a look.

Harry Styles

Watermelon sugar, hi! Paul and Harry were spotted hanging out together at a West End show in London, which Harry’s girlfriend Taylor Russell was starring in.

Imagine – your boyfriend Harry Styles, bringing his new pal Paul Mescal, to support you in a play. We literally can’t.

This one is a little obvious, but we’re still obsessed with the friendship between these two!

They met as co-stars on the set of Normal People, and Paul called Daisy one of the “best” people he knows when accepting his BAFTA. Aww.

Two of our own, Paul and Saoirse are set to wow us in their upcoming film Foe. But they aren’t just friends of circumstance, Saoirse told Document. “We knew each other sort of in passing before, just through friends…we’ve become very, very close since making the film.”

She added that, “We’re genuine friends; we’re not Hollywood friends.” Our hearts!

Angelina Jolie

Okay, Paul – you’ve made it. The Normal People star had coffee with none other than Angelina Jolie and her daughter Shiloh, after they watched his performance in A Streetcar Named Desire. What we’d have given to be a fly on the wall!

Florence Pugh

Though we don’t know too much about their connection, Flo and Paul have been papped together numerous times chatting and laughing at Hollywood events! We’re praying there’s a movie in there somewhere…

Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson

A double whammy! In possibly the cutest display of affection ever, Colin and Brendan told Variety that they were bursting with pride for Paul after his Oscar nom – even though they hadn’t met him yet.

Brendan asked his son Domhnall for Paul’s number, and said they spent a long time chatting.

Colin shared that when he first met Paul, he had to give him a “big squeeze”. “I got his shoulders and I wrapped my arms around him”. Adorable!

Ayo Edebiri

Our jealousy knows no bounds. Paul is allegedly great pals with star of The Bear and comedian Ayo Edebiri, who we would do anything to get on a night out with.

According to blind item Instagram page Deuxmoi, Ayo and Paul have spent a lot of time hanging out in Europe together this Summer. We love to see it!

Joe Alwyn

Another of Paul’s close pals is none other than Taylor Swift’s long term ex boyfriend, Joe Alwyn! Joe starred in Conversations With Friends, based on the book by Sally Rooney (who also wrote Normal People).

The two have been spotted out and about together, and taken part in double interviews. According to ELLE Australia, Joe thinks Paul is a “lovely, lovely guy”. Bless!

Andrew Scott

Andrew and Paul are starring together in an upcoming film, All Of Us Strangers, which is set to be a complex romance between the two men.

But it’s not all intensity, and it looks like the pair are having a ball while filming! Mescal told the Irish Independent that he’s in a WhatsApp group with Andrew and Joe Alwyn too, called the “Tortured Man Club.”

“[Andrews] just on it every day. He’s just on it by himself” Paul joked. Gas!

Andrew isn’t the only one from the Fleabag universe that’s friendly with Paul; there’s Fleabag herself!

The two were spotted having a giggle while out in London together, prompting a lot of Phoebe Bridgers/ Phoebe Waller Bridge jokes.

Poor Paul – but looking at his list of friends, we reckon he’ll be alright!
