A Look Inside Kim Kardashian’s Surprise 40th Birthday Bash

Kim celebrated the big milestone months prior to her actual birthday!

On Wednesday night, a special episode of KUWTK aired on E!, marking the birthday and lavish bash of Ms Kim Kardashian West.

Aired months prior to Kim’s actual birthday, which was on October 21, Kim was surprised by her family and friends who threw her a party filled with nostalgia, and one that mimic’s parts of her 10th birthday party – one that Kim forever notes as her favourite.

With home movies all over the walls of the party venue and retro style furniture and food, Kim’s birthday party was like a time machine back to the late 80s, with many touching videos of her late dad, Robert Kardashian included in the mix.

“I think we’re so lucky that our dad documented our whole lives, like, I would have not remembered the 10th birthday dance if it wasn’t for these videos,” explained Kourtney in the episode.

Believing that she was on the way to a photoshoot, Kim was surprised to see it was in fact, her birthday bash that she was attending at her mother Kris Jenner’s home in Calabasas.

“My mom and dad videoed everything, took pictures of everything, so I have, like, clear memories of each birthday party and to see them all set up as I walk through this party and then to have the huge screens playing my birthday parties — so fun to see that all come to life in this room”, explained Kim in a confessional after the party.

For the night in question, Kim wore a strapless gold dress with high-tie gold sandals. Keeping her hair and makeup look effortless, Kim opted for loose curled tresses and shimmery makeup.

And like any good party, the night isn’t complete without some entertainment. Recreating her 10th birthday party dance, Kim’s sisters Kourtney, Kendall, Khloe and Kylie donned matching outfits to perform a little jazz number.

As Kim’s birthday also falls near Halloween, some of the venue was also decked with Halloween decorations and featured a spooky theme, fitting with the season.

In attendance at the party included Kim’s family, as well as close friends like Simon Huck, Food God (Johnathan Cheban) and Stephanie Shepard to name a few.
