‘It Was Just Like A Tornado’ Katy Perry Opens Up About Her Previous Marriage To Russell Brand

Honestly, when Russell Brand and Katy Perry were together, it seems like a literal lifetime ago. They tied the knot way back in 2010, before they decided to split just over a year later, finalising their divorce in 2012.

Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, Katy has opened up about her marriage to Russell, saying it was just like a tornado.

“I was having great success at 23, 24, and 25, and then I met someone that was interesting and stimulating. It was just like a tornado, it was everything happening at once.”

She went on to explain, “I’ve always really resonated with friction and resistance and challenges and I know that inherently, it’s going to take a lot of work but we’re going to get somewhere great.

Of course, Katy is now happily engaged to Orlando Bloom, and they’ve just welcomed their first child together, Daisy Dove Bloom. Doing one up on any other celeb baby announcement, they shared the news on the UNICEF Instagram page, a charity that they are Goodwill Ambassadors for.

In a black and white snap of all three holding hands, they announced baby girl’s sweet name alongside the image:

“Welcome to the world, Daisy Dove Bloom! We are honoured to introduce Goodwill Ambassadors @KatyPerry and @OrlandoBloom’s new bundle of joy.”

Speaking about the birth, Katy and Orlando said, “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”
