Miriam Mullins Says Radio Gig Has Made People ‘Respect’ Her More
"I have gotten a really good response"
Miriam Mullins made a huge splash on TikTok in 2020.
Since then she has gone from strength to strength, even landing her own radio show on Cork’s RedFM. She announced that she would be taking on hosting duties of Red Hits earlier this year.
And she’s been loving it.

“It’s a bit of a different audience to what would usually watch me, it would be an older audience,” she explained to us on the red carpet of the Hayu STELLAR InstaStar Awards.
“I have gotten a really good response, and it’s so weird I feel like people have more respect for me. They don’t look at you as an influencer, they look at you as ‘Oh you’re a radio presenter now’. It’s mad! Especially the older generation. I think they still don’t understand what influencing and social media is.”
She also discussed her decision to delete some of her older videos from her social media.
“I think they were just of me with a lot of makeup, and I would put on this character. I used to do all my videos as a character like an Irish mammy and I suppose that’s just not me anymore. I am a lot more confident in myself, thank God,” she said.
She went on to say: “I just want to portray myself now rather than a character all the time. I’ll still continue to do those kinds of videos because I still have that audience and they still like that kind of content.
“They were videos that I kind of cringed at I guess, so I went through one night, of deleting a couple of them.”
If she could go back to her younger self, she admits that she would tell her to “have more confidence in yourself”.
“There’s nothing to be worried about, life will be good!” she added with a smile.
