Patrick Dempsey is doing mighty tourism for Dublin and Wicklow at the moment. Not only is he shooting his new Disney flick and the sequel to Enchanted titled Disenchanted here on our Emerald Isle, but he’s popping into some businesses around Dublin too, giving them serious praise.

After a little bit of retail therapy at Louis Copeland & Sons during the week, ordering a new suit, Patrick headed to famous Dublin chipper Leo Burdock for some quality fish and chips.

Speaking on Ireland AM, owner of Leo Burdock Derek Duggan spoke to Alan Hughes about the recent famous visit.

“He came in yesterday afternoon [Wednesday, May 26], he had just been on Capel Street in Louis Copeland’s and got a superb suit and then he said he wanted a fabulous meal of fish and chips to round off his day,’ explained Derek.

Revealing that his two staff members didn’t even recognise the famous actor at first, Derek added that it was the store manager who quickly clocked the star and got the lads to pose with him for the restaurant’s the wall of fame.

“He was having an indulgent day and wanted to treat himself so we were more than happy [to serve him]. He popped in and saw the hall of fame and I guess he wanted to be up there with Bruce Springsteen and Bono and all the rest of them,” added Derek.

With famous faces like Domhnall Gleeson, Bruce Springsteen, Bono, Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington to name a few popping in over the years for some good grub, Patrick chose wisely and admitted that it hit all expectations.

Not only did the star share a snap of the shop to his Instagram, captioning it in true Dublin form: “bleeding deadly’, but he also commented underneath Leo Burdock’s page to say it was the best he’s ever had – impressive!

“Thanks guys !! I’ll definitely come back, best fish and chips I’ve ever had in my life!” Patrick wrote in a comment.

I mean, if that’s not a sign to head there this weekend, I don’t know what is.

Before heading to Wicklow to shoot, Patrick was also up in Donegal, snapping pictures with a donkey and staying with a local business owner, you can read more about that here.
