Sarah Jessica Parker Confirms There Will Be No Samantha In SATC Reboot

SJP put an end to any speculation when she answered those burning questions earlier today.

It was the news we all saw coming, but nothing gets us more excited like a little confirmation from the stars themselves.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis have all officially confirmed the news on Instagram, Sex And The City is making a return on HBO.

Not only will the 10-episode special have a brand new storyline, but it will also has an entirely different name: And Just Like That.

“I couldn’t help but wonder… where are they now,” SJP (who played Carrie, the character a lot of us have a love/hate relationship with) shared on Instagram.

Breaking the news that has SATC fans buzzing all day, the star did quash any rumours that Kim Cattrall – who played the ever-so-iconic publicist Samantha Jones would be making a comeback.

Revealing to a fan on Instagram that Samantha “isn’t part” of the new series, it looks like the pair who reportedly had an ongoing feud offscreen won’t be teaming up onscreen for the revival.

With Kim Cattrall fanning the flames of their “spats”, the actress called Sarah Jessica Parker “toxic and cruel” to work with after the Sex And The City movies came to an end.

However, SJP is still adamant to deny any feud between the pair, despite what Kim Cattrall says, adding that Kim’s character is just not part of the reboot but it’s nothing to do with the pair’s relationship.

“I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that. Never would. Samantha isn’t part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do. X,” Parker wrote online.

Continuing to reply to fans, SJP added that Kim’s character would be missed and that the ladies “loved her so”, to which Kim has not responded to.

It is believed that Kim isn’t friends with any of her former leading co-stars including Kristin and Cynthia.

Speaking a few years back, the Mail Online reported that Kim said:

“We’ve never been friends. We’ve been colleagues and, in some ways, it’s a very healthy place to be.”

Well, there you have it. It looks like Samantha will not be making an appearance in the reboot, but it’ll certainly be interesting to see if her character is mentioned in any capacity.

Sex and the City first started in 1998 and is still as loved now as it was then, even if some episodes are a little dated.

Honestly, we’re excited to see where they take it. But we’ll still miss good aul’ Samantha all the same.
