Chris Pine Has Responded To The Harry Styles Alleged ‘Spitting’ Rumours

In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably have heard of Spitgate…

And seen the video doing the rounds online of Harry Styles arriving at his seat inside the theatre and supposedly spitting on Chris Pine before he sits down. There’s no evidence that he actually spat, but the sequence of events from Harry’s head position to Chris looking down very coincidentally, is a lot.

With the whole internet debating over whether or not there was something falling from Harry’s mouth, Chris Pine, who was actually directly involved is setting the record straight.

His rep told PEOPLE, “This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation.

“Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”

Although the whole concept was pretty wild, we are glad the rep has silenced the rumours, as if this film needs any more controversy…
